w-o-w! o_o
whatta show! :D
well, to start things, i didn't get there on time.. :( so i didn't catch the first two songs of their concert.. a piece of advice, when you really want to watch a band playing, take your time and get there in advance.. and count on some delays.. traffic, parking spot, etc.. i kind of disregard that, and i payed for it..
i thought they could have arranged some buses to bring people from the Gare do Oriente to the Parque Tejo.. cause it's a reaaaaaally looong walk.. anyways... skipping this minor details, onto the good stuff :D
MUSE... what can i say.. they fucking rock! not only do they put an awesome live show, with an incredible presence on stage, but they are also three awesome musicians... specially Matt.. and their show is very "music" oriented.. i was gasping every now and then.. when matt performed some riffs of led zeppelin amidst the songs, and when they played the chords of a couple of (my favourite) songs, i would gasp too :D in awe. i don't have the setlist, but they played everything they had to! :D and that made me a very happy fan. ;P i'm a bit sadden that i wasn't able to be in the mosh pit enjoying the energy of their fans.. i was a bit away, but still i could see pretty well to the stage, and the video screens.. but that didn't stop me from rocking along with them :D ;)
at the end, as always, matt went to Dom's drums, and start trashing the place.. :D haha the plates.. some drums.. everything, to the ground. he left little of it standing for him to be able to play.. and then he sat on top of it.. facing dom.. and after that, came the big finale.. he was making his guitar scream in a fashion only he can.. and dom was rocking with him.. and during this, chris, the bassist, was down by the crowd.. and he jumped on the fence, and layed down on his back on top of the crowd and kept on playing!!! damn! when i saw that image on the screens a shiver went running up and down my spine! what a beautiful moment guys.. i'm trying to find a photo of that.. and if i do, i'll post it. it was amazing! :D at this point the concert was just a bit over an hour, and they had to leave the stage (which i think it's bad.. i know festivals have strict schedules, but if the crowd is loving it, why cut it short?) and when they were still onstage, leaving.. they clearly cut out their sound.. baaaah.. fuckers..
anyway.. this concert surely earned a top position on my list of best concerts ever.. and i hope i can watch them again in july if i end up going to xacobeo :D

Let me just start this off by telling you i'm not a Korn fan... but i was very intrigued and curious to see how their live show would look like.. and i was completely overwhelmed by Jonathan's presence, and all of the guys.. man.. those guys just know how to get a crowd's attention :P
i knew a couple of songs by them.. i've heard their albums a couple of times and stuff.. but i don't know why, i never became what you can call "a fan".. but i still fancy their sound, a lot. specially the bass and the 7-string guitar...
right at the start david, the drummer, made me go O_O when he started pounding his drums like an animal :D and a bit after came in the band, to play their song "Right Now"! damn! what a start =D
they played for a good while.. 2hours, maybe? and they gave everything they had into each and every one of the songs.. and they kept interacting with the crowd.. they kept going behind the speakers after each song though.. i managed to catch a glimpse of jonathan putting on his bagpipes... and i knew some shivering moments where just around the bend.. a couple of seconds after, my suspicions where confirmed. i shivered. hehe amazing song, Bagpipes.
they played all of their invevitable songs.. and i was particularly waiting for their "Ya'll want a single" of the last album.. it was the last song played, but damn! was it worth the wait! totally.
Jon came to the mic and said "HEY Lisbon!!! i want you to do me a favour.. i wanna see everyone sticking their middle fingers right up into the air" (which we did.. we're very obedient :P) and right after that he started "ya'll want a single say fuck that (...)" :D damn.. i was crushed to the bones in that one.. but happy :D
if i knew all of their songs, it would have been one of my favourite shows.. but since i didn't, it still was great, but not my fav.
therefore..
in the end, i was pretty happy to have spent 38euros in that festival.. and i'm already counting my cents for the next one :D :P either Paredes de Coura or Xacobeo, or both :| LoL :P
one other thing... i was disgusted by a few things.. Linkin Park.. what bothers me the most is that the kids who love them think their the best thing to have ever existed in the music scene.. i feel bad for them. oh, and i actually saw some pretty young kids on the crowd.. kids and parents. (^^,) LoL
another thing was the quantity of devil's horns you now see at the concerts.. back in the day you would see a couple in the middle of the crowd.. and people actually knew what it meant.. now if you come up to one chick doing it, and ask her why is she doing the devil's horns, she'll say "do what? what is that?" o_O
and they do it on every single chance they got.. :| i've seen lil' kids, what we call "betas", doing it.. and it just babbles me.. it's like a herd of sheeps.. "i do it, because they do it.." don't get me wrong, i don't think it's wrong doing it.. just how it's done. baaah..
i was talking to
that's it for today. ;) tune in from times to times to hear the next exciting news on my not-exciting life.. :P LOL

They are one of my favourite bands, and I can't understand how they are not fucking huge world over! The bassist is simply fantastic!
